RAD-AID is pleased to offer formal training to radiology professionals (MDs, technologists, nurses, administrators, educators, etc.) interested in receiving hands-on learning, instruction, and structured guidance for conducting international health projects. Successful participants in this program receive a Certificate of Proficiency in Global Health Radiology from RAD-AID, which can be a strong life-long credential for demonstrating your skills and knowledge in international radiology outreach for global health initiatives.

The program consists of two core parts:

  • A facilitated six-month interactive online learning course with instruction from RAD-AID’s published textbook on Global Health Radiology and additional resources.
  • Project planning and implementation under RAD-AID supervision and mentorship so that you can create and carry out your own international program and travel.

The application requirements include:

  • Brief description of professional background.
  • Submission of application including name, contact information, and personal statement.

Successful completion of the program entails:

  • Completion of online learning course component with fulfillment of all related assignments.
  • Completion of project planning and implementation within two years of online learning course component completion.

At the conclusion of this Certificate program, you will have an essential understanding of issues affecting radiology in the world, strong basis for using public health methods, skills in radiology project planning, and experience in carrying out a global health radiology initiative.

Getting Started

Administrative and instructional fee for the program is $999. There will be additional costs related to travel, project planning, and implementation. RAD-AID will provide guidance to potential resources and fundraising mechanisms for project completion; however, the creation and fulfillment of a travel budget is part of the project learning experience for participants. The syllabus and materials are available to participants through the RAD-AID Learning Center.

The course will run from April to October. The course drop date is April 30th, and no refunds will be granted past the drop date. A non-refundable deposit of $200, which will be deducted from your course fee, is due by enrollment to reserve your seat in the cohort. Applications are being accepted for the 2017 cohort.
